ACSMC AutoSOLO Championship Update

It was good to see 12 ACSMC championship entries amongst the entry of 64 for the Oxford MC Boanerges event at Finmere on Sunday. The updated points are here.

Steve Conner, in his MX5, has stretched his overall lead over Alan Wakeman having headed the 16 entries in the sports car class.  Steve not only won the sports car class but was FTD for the event, well done to Steve.  Alan was the best championship entry in Class A but was beaten by the mini of Bob Milligan on the day.

The championship class B lead has changed with BMW318i of Vic Craven edging 1.2 points ahead of Richard Olsen in the diesel BMW120.  Richard had one of those days when the back end of the car wanted to overtake the front end which resulted in a odd collision with the pylon in the middle of the manoeuvre.

In the sports car class  Brian Coe is getting used to the Audi TTS with its multiple choices of suspension and engine settings.  In the damp conditions for test 1 Brain was only 0.2 secs behind the class leader Neil Jones in his MX5.  As the course dried out the MX5s were able to get their power down and it was Steve Conner who beat all comers with some incredible times.

At the end of the day it was good to report that the trophy for the winning team at the Inter Association event run during the Dolphin MC round was presented to the ACSMC team of Stuart Harrison, Alan Wakeman and Steve Conner.  Phot attached of the team and trophy.  I’m sure they will have a good go at retaining it in 2020.

The final round of the 2019 series is the Southern CC Kempton Park event on the 27th October.  They always use the contours and scenery of the car park to good effect to put on some cracking tests.

Entries are still available so get yours in asap at http://southerncarclub.com/?page_id=7912.

Cheers

Peter
