Southern Auotest Bulletin – June
After the glitch with TimingAppLive and their server it’s good to attach the provisional points for the Southern Autotest Championship after the 3rd evening round (click here for points). It shows Paul Hebden (MX5) with a slender 0.6 points lead ahead of the current champion Brian Sharpe (Micra). Alan Scott is not too far behind in his Suzuki Ignis.
THe next evening round is being run by Maidstone & Mid Knet MC at Oatham on Wednesday, 1st June. The App appears to be a bit behind on entries but if you haven’t got yours in yet details are in the attached regs.
One thing you can see from the results is that the Eastbourne & Ram all day event on the 22nd May was cancelled. This was due to a shortage of entries and the club are wondering if the May date is a bit early, bearing in mind all the evening events. If you have thoughts on this please let Ian Pinder know ( ianpinder@gmail.com ). On the all day events side the Boundless by CSMA event on the 12th JUne is still to finalise its venue. I’ll keep you up to date on developments with this.
Looking quite a bit further ahead is the news of an event which is not part of the Southern Autotest Championship but is the regional Inter Association autotest on the 3rd July.. This will take place at the Demon Tweeks site in Wrexham and organised by the Knutsford & DMC on behalf of the ANWCC. It will also be a BTRDA and MSUK championship round so if you want to have a go against the top British drivers this could be a good chance. Let me or Toby know if you would like to part of a team.
So far this year the weather has been good to us – albeit for the Tunbridge Wells event on the 26th May when skill was required just to keep moving in the wet conditions. Here’s hoping all will be well for the rest of the year.
Cheers
