ACSMC AutoSOLO Update – October

It was a fine sunny day at Worcester Racecourse for the last AutoSOLO event to be held there.  There was some hot competition in class A between the Micras of Chris Kent and Alan Wakeman, this time in his rallying version which he was using to perfect a front driveshaft locking nut problem.  All held together but the slightly reduced lock meant the normal tenths of a second difference between them extended to a massive! 4 secs difference in Chris’ favour after the 12 runs.  Jamie Yapp had a good win in Class B, only the relatively lower number in the class, compared to the beginning of the season, meant not so many bonus points.  Vic Craven and Mark Snelling were experimenting with larger wheels on their Renault Twingo and Vic finished a good third place in the class and getting close to Jamies’ times.

With just one more round to go it doesn’t look likely that Steve Connor can be caught for the overall honours but that Class A battle  goes down to the wire with whoever wins at Brands Hatch on the 27th November for the Sevenoaks & DMC round getting the class.   Regs aren’t out yet but will no doubt be available soon after the AutoSOLO event at Ashford this weekend.

See you at Brands?

Cheers

Peter
